I took this picture yesterday from the plane as I was flying home to say my goodbyes to my grandmother. I wanted to be there to thank her for everything she has given me and to tell her I love her…one last time.
Unfortunately, I didn’t make it in time. I think just knowing that I was coming gave her peace enough to pass on, even though I wasn’t there. When she passed from this life I to the next, she was surrounded by everyone that loved her so dearly. What an amazing ending to a wonderful life.

Every week, I post a quote with the intention of helping you to take a step back and reflect on life. Usually I post a quote that deals with peace and serenity. This week, I want to give pause to one of our greatest gifts–our grandmothers.
If you are lucky enough to still have your grandmother around, be grateful and cherish every moment you can with her (and grandpa too!!). Life is so short, before you know it you’ll be walking this life without the love and wisdom known as grandparents.
Happy Grandparents Day to all of the grandparents who have shaped us and mounded us; who have loved us and taugh us. May you have a very special day with your grandchildren.
